Ticketing group says advice is a ‘precaution’ as it does not believe Australia and New Zealand have been affectedThousands of Ticketmaster customers across Australia and New Zealand are being warned to check their bank accounts following a cyber attack on the ticket seller’s operations in Britain.Data belonging to 40,000 people who bought tickets to events using Ticketmasters’ UK website may have been accessed as a result of malicious software used in a customer support product supplied by another company.A spokesman for Ticketmaster said emails were being sent on Thursday to customers in Australia and New Zealand who bought or attempted to buy tickets between September last year and February, warning them to check their bank accounts for any irregularities.“There are no confirmed incidents outside the UK,” he said. “However out of precaution we have approached customers in a number of territories, which includes Australia and New Zealand.
