The 9th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore) gala dinner and awards presentation ceremony was held on Friday evening (4 October 2019) at the St. Regis Singapore, where a total of 45 awards were presented to recognise the country’s finest real estate developers, projects, and design.
Established in 2011, the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards is a highly-regarded accolade with every stage of its judging process being supervised by third-party BDO, one of the world’s largest networks of auditing and accounting firms.
UOL Group Limited emerged as the biggest winner of the evening, sweeping up 12 golden trophies including Best Developer, Best Condo Development (Singapore), and the special awards for CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), Sustainable Development, and Design and Construction.
“Through their outstanding properties, UOL Group epitomises what an exemplary developer is, whilst pushing the limits on design, experimenting and succeeding with interior and style possibilities and leading the way in architectural perfection,” said the independent panel of judges.
The prestigious programme also honoured Aurum Land (Pte) Ltd as Best Boutique Developer. The awards categories were expanded this year to 46 to include several new categories – Best Heritage Development (1953 by Oxley Holdings Ltd), Best Mega-Scale Condo Development (Parc Clematis by Sing-Haiyi Gold Pte Ltd), Best Strata Housing Development (Watercove by Bukit Sembawang Estates Limited).
Singapore’s top developers also competed for the Special Recognition in Sustainable Development award, presented to three equally deserving winners: Frasers Property Singapore, QingJian Realty (South Pacific) Group Pte. Ltd., and UOL Group Limited. Their respective projects demonstrated the smart use of design to reduce energy consumption, using green materials, while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
For its project’s innovative use of the latest consumer technology and smart building management, face-recognition security, and voice-activated appliances, the Best Smart Building Development award was once again awarded to JadeScape by Qingjian Realty (Marymount) Pte Ltd, which received the same honour last year.
All the winners in Singapore will compete at the region-wide PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final to be held this November in Bangkok, for a chance to be crowned the ‘Best in Asia.’.
The ceremony was attended by more than 300 guests and VIPs, comprising C-level and senior industry figures in real estate development, property consultancy, construction, marketing, property technology, legal, finance and architecture and design.
