But pressure is growing for changeWhen Lela Lewis suffered a minor electric shock while she was taking a shower, it was the last straw – for her landlord. After learning from an electrician that the back wall of her flat was effectively running with a live electrical current and that it wasn’t safe for her and her daughter to remain in their home, Lewis contacted her landlord, who responded by telling her she was to be evicted.“I was floored. Nobody wants to rent to you when you’re unemployed and I’d been homeless for a while before eventually finding this place.
