It’s our first issue for the month of March, and we have just concluded PropertyGuru’s latest Malaysia Property Show (MPS), which was held at the Singapore Marriott Hotel over the weekend of 5 and 6 March.
As it has been since MPS’ inauguration in 2011, the most recent edition of the show drew large crowds on both days, as Malaysian property developers, as well as industry experts, turned up at the event to enlighten potential buyers and investors on the Malaysian property market. You can find the full report on page 28.
In light of Singapore’s upcoming 2016 Budget Statement, to be delivered by Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat in Parliament on 24 March, we’ve spoken to leading real estate analysts about what this could mean for the property market in Singapore, and answer the pertinent question: Will the government amend or even lift any of the cooling measures? Simply turn to page 18 to find out.
And speaking of budget, we’ve included tips on budgeting for your very first home, be it an HDB flat or private home. Whether you are Singaporean, a PR or a foreign buyer, you can benefit from our brief but concise front-page guide.
Elsewhere in this issue, give you the Guru View on the state of the rental market in Singapore, as well as some commercial insight into our industrial property market. We also explore Yishun and Phnom Penh, and provide useful information about renting storage space in Singapore.
We hope you enjoy this issue!
