The ‘Queen City of the South’ is now the country’s second largest BPO hub
Cebu IT Park by Cebu Holdings
Manila-based developer Arthaland has officially entered the Visayas-Mindanao market with the recent announcement of their latest acquisition of a prime office property in the Cebu IT Park in Cebu City, reports The Manila Times.
The building will be developed into a world-class, environmentally-friendly office space, taking advantage of the potential of the Visayas-Mindanao market and the booming business process outsourcing (BPO) sector in Cebu.
“We are bullish on the Vis-Min market given its fast paced growth in the past few years. We believe that Cebu, being a global hub in this part of the country, plays a major role in further lifting central and southern Philippines’ economy,” commented Arthaland president and CEO, Angie de Villa-Lacson.

The space will measure at least 51,000 sqm and will be advertised to the local market during phase one construction, reports CNN.
Arthaland is confident that growth potential is in abundance thanks to the high education level of local Visayans and the BPO sensibilities of the region – it is now the second largest BPO location in the Philippines after Metro Manila.
As such, information technology and business process management companies will be Arthaland’s primary target market, according to SunStar.

“Cebu has progressed into an alternative BPO location and is currently ranked 8th as a global outsourcing destination according to Tholons, a global services and investment advisory firm. The entry of BPO companies has transformed and paved way to the growth of the office sector in Cebu,” agrees Michael McCullough, managing director of KMC MAG, an international affiliate of Savills.
Arthaland already has history with green developments. The company’s flagship project, Arya Residences, and second project, Arthaland Century Pacific Tower, both located in Bonifacio Global City, are both expected to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and BERDE (Buildings for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence) certifications. They are scheduled to completed in Q1 2016 and Q3 2017 respectively.
