House prices rise by 4.5% in 2016, says Nationwide


House price growth in London was below national average for first time since 2008, according to building society’s figuresProperty values have risen by 4.5% in 2016, and for the first time since 2008 the rate of house price growth in London will end the year below the national average, according to Nationwide.The building society’s house price index put the average UK house price at £205,898 in December, a 0.8% month-on-month increase.
