House prices and rental costs continue to rise


Record house prices have caused a knock-on effect in the rental market, with tenants paying 2.5% more than last year, according to ONS and Land Registry dataHouse prices and private rents continued their upward march in 2015, official figures show, rising quicker than wages.Tenants in Great Britain paid 2.5% more for housing in December 2015 than they did a year previously, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics, as demand for rental property pushed up prices.
