Hong Kong rents snap 22-month increase in February, but upward trajectory likely to resume


Rents in Hong Kong fell for the first time in 22 months in February, but analysts said the decline was likely to be temporary on account of a lull in leasing activity because of the Lunar New Year holiday last month.
Average apartment rents dropped 1.4 per cent to HK$35.9 per square foot in February from HK$36.4 per sq ft in January, according to figures from Centaline Property Agency, based on deals in 107 private housing estates.
