Gender pay gap stands at 15%


Official figures analysed by the TUC show the hourly rate of pay for men is £26.54 and for women £18.32, with the disparity even wider in part-time jobsWomen working full time still earn almost £5,000 a year less than their male colleagues, and the pay gap in some jobs is three times bigger, according to a TUC analysis of official figures.The union said today marked Equal Pay Day – the point in the year at which women effectively stop earning because they are paid on average 15% less than men. The difference is even bigger for women working part time, who earn 35% less per hour than men working full time, so Equal Pay Day for them was on 27 August, the report said. Continue reading…
