Eurostar has watered down its compensation offer after Paris trip delay


Train staff said we would get a free return ticket but the website only offered us £29 eachMy wife and I took a trip to Paris on Eurostar in mid-January. The train had technical problems which meant we arrived in Paris two and a half hours late. The train manager announced, in French and English, that they were sorry for the problems, but that every passenger would be offered a free return ticket, valid for 12 months. We were happy with that offer and so didn’t make any complaint at the time. I received an email when I got back to the UK detailing how to make my claim for compensation.
