Britain's largest estate agent Countrywide announces profits down 25%


Share price falls in early trading, as property market worries amplified by Brexit and uncertainty over interest ratesCountrywide, the UK’s biggest lettings and estate agent, has warned that its 2016 earnings will be lower than last year, saying commercial and London residential transactions have stalled after Britain voted to leave the European Union. However, growth in UK house prices was steady in July, with the average price of a home increased by 0.5% to £205,715, according to Nationwide Building Society’s monthly report on mortgage activity.
