In June, the air-conditioning on my then eight-month-old A3 stopped working. My local dealer, Derby Audi, told me that a stone had passed through the car’s front grill, hitting and puncturing the condenser. It deemed this to be accidental damage and not a warranty issue, and therefore I would have to pay £750. Having done some research, it turns out that I am not alone in experiencing this.
