American student signs up for £21,000-a-month London 'digs'

The student is set to pay £5,250 a week for the three-bedroom apartment in Mayfair – one of a block of luxury flats being marketed at wealthy overseas students. A recent report found there were 67,500 international students attending London universities, and that they spend £1.36bn a year on living expenses. In recent years there has been a growing market in luxury accommodation, designed to appeal to the wealthiest overseas students whose parents are often willing to pay a year’s rent upfront.
