Admiral insurance wants my £400 excess up front


I was putting my children into my car when a passing vehicle hit my car door. Now Admiral says it’s my faultIn January my husband and I were putting our two children into our 1999 Vauxhall Zafira when the car door was hit by a vehicle driving down the road. No one was hurt, but the door was damaged. The driver stopped, became aggressive and said: “I’m going to say you opened the door in my way.” I can’t understand how he didn’t see me. It is a wide road and he would have had plenty of room to pass.I took pictures of the scene and sent these, along with a lengthy statement, to our insurer Admiral within 48 hours.
