A total 18 property projects here were lauded at the Singapore Property Awards on Friday night (6 October) by the local chapter of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI), reported The Straits Times.
These developments will now compete in the 2018 FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards after being judged based on their functionality and design as well as their effect on the community and environment.
Developer Far East Organization, which received four prizes, was the top winner. It is followed by CDL, Qingjian Realty and UOL Group with two accolades each.
In particular, the 31-storey SBF Centre in Robinson Road by Far East was one of two developments commended by FIABCI-Singapore for “interesting concepts and designs.”
The other was South Beach that bagged the medal in the eco-friendly category after judges complimented its wave-like canopy that filters out air pollution and improves the cooling effect of air currents. The integrated project was jointly developed by a Malaysia-based IOI Properties and Singapore’s CDL.
Eco Sanctuary condominium in Bukit Panjang by Malaysia’s SP Setia also took home a prize for sustainable development thanks to its eco-friendly features.
Meanwhile, Malaysia-listed Selangor Dredging received its first accolade in the Singapore Property Awards for its 41-unit Hijauan on Cavanagh. This is in addition to the five previous FIABCI awards it clinched in its home country.
Previously, Singapore acquired two golds and two silvers across 27 categories at the 2017 FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards in May.
According to FIABCI-Singapore President Lim Lan Yuan, the city-state had a strong showing in the prestigious international awards as it won about one in five trophies in the past 20 years.
“We have excelled particularly in the residential categories with very innovative designs and concepts,” he added.
