The cost of renting a commercial property in Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, is expected to increase over the coming months.
This is the prediction of Chua Chor Hoon, DTZ head of Asia-Pacific research, who stated: “We are […] forecasting rental uplift in Sydney and Bangkok, both of which are characterised by a lack of new supply.”
Her comments come following the publication of DTZ’s Property Times report for the Asia-Pacific region in the second quarter of this year.
According to the firm’s research, occupiers in Bangkok would do well to renegotiate their tenancy agreements now, before further rental growth is experienced.
This prediction appears to be borne out by the latest Global Commercial Property Survey conducted by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
It revealed occupier demand far outpaced the amount of available space in the Thai real estate market, while the number of development starts during the three-month period was firmly in positive territory.
