Customers who face paying the fee need to take action, if they have not done so already – unless they want to hand over £120 a year to the HSBC-owned bank, that is.First Direct announced in November that it was bringing in a fee of £10 a month. Current account customers will be charged if they do not pay in at least £1,500 a month or maintain an average monthly balance of £1,500.
