The Siena, a 54-unit SOHO-concept apartment by Far East Organization, clinched the SG Mark award at the Singapore Good Design Mark (SG Mark) Awards 2017 held at The Swissotel, Fairmont Singapore on 16 March.
The property developer’s Oasia Hotel Downtown, on the other hand, was conferred the highest accolade – the SG Mark Platinum award.
Designed by Arc Studio Architecture + Urbanism, The Siena is the fifth development completed under the Far East SOHO collection.
Apartments at The Siena feature a unique layout, high ceilings and distinctive space planning concepts. Adopting a modular theme for each unit, it provides homeowners the opportunity to creatively personalise functional live-work-play spaces that suit their lifestyle needs.
The project is within proximity to the Botanic Gardens MRT station, retail and recreational amenities, as well as established schools.
Meanwhile, integrated hotel-office development Oasia Hotel Downtown was designed by architectural firm WOHA. Situated near the Tanjong Pagar MRT station, the 314-room development stands out amongst the sea of concrete and glass buildings in Tanjong Pagar with its distinctive red silhouette cladded in lush vertical greenery.
With an overall green plot ratio of 750 percent, the 27-storey building used landscaping extensively as an architectural surface treatment, which forms a major part of its material palette both internally and externally.
This greenery is enhanced by alternating 30m tall sky gardens and sleek architectural details – part of the passive sustainable designs integrated into the architectural concept to harness natural energy.
