7 questions to ask at Property Report Congress Malaysia


The first-ever Property Report Congress in Kuala Lumpur debuts on 11 August 2016 
Tomorrow, Asia’s real estate industry leaders and influencers from Kuala Lumpur and beyond will meet at the inaugural Property Report Congress Malaysia.
The fourth Property Report Congress to take place in 2016 (and fifth overall after the successful debut in Singapore in October 2015), it will welcome more than 100 delegates who are interested in Malaysian real estate, architecture and design, property management, and real estate marketing.

“State of the Market Address” keynote speaker Prem Kumar, executive director of Jones Lang Wootton and head judge at South East Asia Property Awards (Malaysia), will provide an overview of the Malaysian real estate sector in 2016, including a macro-economic background and discuss the strengths of the industry during a temporarily slowed down market.
2– What kind of investments in Malaysia are currently popular with consumers?
Are Malaysian investors investing in primary market or in secondary homes? Are they looking to purchase properties in the city where there are modern transport links, or in emerging resort destinations? Are they looking to acquire any property at all this year? Sheldon Fernandez, country manager of PropertyGuru,com.my, will talk about “Understanding Malaysian property consumer demand” based on PropertyGuru’s latest investor sentiment surveys.
3–Which real estate marketing content reacts to the world?
There is a massive opportunity in marketing real estate, according to digital strategist Ian Paynton, founder of Hashtagcontent.com. Ian says real estate companies can commit to an effective digital storytelling strategy to increase brand awareness organically and through other means, educate and inform customers, and build a solid following and clientele who cares about the company’s brands and products. 4– How will smart developments like Cyberjaya shape the real estate industry?
With Malaysia’s reputation as a knowledge-based economy and workforce, some insiders will say that the industry could expect to see more “smart” developments like Cyberjaya in the future. To find out where “smart cities” stand in today’s market, Christopher Boyd, executive chairman of Savills Malaysia, will ask some experts’ opinions in the “Living smart: the rise of Cyberjaya (and how it compares to its regional counterparts)” forum, including: Dr Renard Siew, who handles group sustainability for Sime Darby Berhad; 
Dr Mazlan Abbas, IOT Evangelist & Thought Leader CEO at REDTone IOT, Malaysia; 
Dr Thomas Tang, managing director of Kuala Lumpur Centre for Sustainable Innovations, Malaysia; and Mahadhir Aziz, head of the technology hub development division of Cyberview Sdn Bhd, one of the developers in Malaysia.
5–What are the essential elements of a resort project to be called a success?
South East Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) judge Low Han Hoe, senior manager – Investment Advisory Services at DTZ Nawawi Tie Leung Sdn Bhd, will be joined on the “How to build a successful resort development” panel discussion by two regional experts in resort development – David Hill, general manager of the Vietnam Property Award-winning The Dalat at 1200, and Dr Daniele Gambero, CEO at REI Group of Companies – to find out which essential facilities, services and marketing ideas are needed by successful, contemporary resort developments.
