\nBuilding society\u2019s profits fall amid fierce competition and tightening of buy-to-let loansNationwide has reported declining profits for the second year in a row, as net mortgage lending slumped by a third amid intense competition.The UK\u2019s largest building society reported a 7.3% drop in statutory profits to \u00a3977m for the year to 4 April, down from \u00a31.05bn the previous year.
