\nSavills Singapore has appointed George Tan as its new executive director of Savills Residential \u2013 the company\u2019s residential project marketing arm \u2013 effective immediately.
\nTan has been with the firm for 12 years and was a key member in the founding of Savills Residential in Singapore. He\u2019s been an instrumental part of the project sales business development team and provides strategic direction for the growth of the business.
\nThe move is timely, given the recent upturn in the property market, which is expected to further improve this year.
\n\u201cSingapore\u2019s residential market has begun its buzz and the return in buying interest may overwhelm the slate of new launches this year leading to an overspill in demand for resale properties,\u201d said Tan.
\nHe added: \u201cPrices are expected to increase 12-15 percent this year with much of the increase loaded into 2H2018 when the spike in new launches are expected.\u201d
\nSavills remains active in residential property, marketing several major projects such as New Futura, Artra, Victoria Park Villas and the upcoming Amber 45.
\nCommenting on the appointment, Marcus Loo, managing director of Savills Singapore, said: \u201cUnder George\u2019s leadership, the Savills Residential business has witnessed a steady growth in both profit and portfolio in the face of the challenging market conditions in the last few years.
\n\u201cGeorge will continue to drive the strategic transformation of the residential business, solidifying our position in the market and expanding our market share.\u201d
