Three years later, they have been installed at the new Mersey Gateway toll bridge which opened last October.But although it is aimed at easing congestion and speeding up journeys, technical inadequacies that have wrongly fined hundreds of thousands of Dartford drivers are now penalising those crossing the Mersey.
