\nThe pension reforms and a reduction of tax relief means an average GP may take home less than \u00a340,000 a yearIt is conventional wisdom in Britain that family doctors are rolling in it. GPs, critics say, hoodwinked negotiators into awarding them a madly generous settlement that not only took their pay well above \u00a3100,000 a year \u2013 the highest in Europe \u2013 but also meant they reduced their out-of-hours services.Last year there was outrage following reports of a doctor in west London who declared annual NHS earnings of \u00a3507,241.
