\nReader wants security for herself and her daughter \u2013 but is not sure whether it makes sense to take out a mortgage at this stageQ I am a 52-year-old single woman in a secure job earning approximately \u00a330,000 annually which will increase yearly but not by a great deal. I do not have a pension and I have been happily renting for most of my life. My daughter is 16 and it is likely she will spend another six years in full-time education. I have savings of around \u00a320,000 but no other assets.In the last year I have been looking at property and thinking of buying. I could probably afford a house for around \u00a3100,000 with me contributing a cash deposit of 10%. Continue reading…
