\nOfcom says new scheme could result in customers receiving a total of \u00a3142m a year in payoutsBroadband and landline customers who suffer poor service will receive a share of more than \u00a3140m a year from a new automatic compensation scheme being set up by the UK\u2019s biggest providers. Telecoms regulator Ofcom said that the new scheme \u2013 which will make providers pay automatically for slow repairs, missed appointments and delayed installations \u2013 could result in customers receiving a total of \u00a3142m a year in payouts.
