\nTrade-offs will always be part of a property search, but that doesn\u2019t mean you won\u2019t find happiness in your new homeWhen Arabel Lebrusan\u2019s husband found a new job in Derby, his two-and-a-half-hour commute home to London quickly took its toll. \u201cIt was a really hard commute,\u201d she says. \u201cHe would spend a couple of nights in Derby, and then come back on a Wednesday and go back again. It wasn\u2019t very sustainable. In the end, we decided to move halfway.\u201d They rented and eventually bought a house in Bedford, which was a 90-minute commute to Derby, and a similar distance from London. Lebrusan had recently opened a shop in London to sell her ethical jewellery designs, so would have to travel in each day, at a considerable cost of \u00a3600 a month.
