Here\u2019s where \u2026British households have got rid of \u00a360m-worth of the old \u201cround pound\u201d coins over the past week \u2013 but there are still more than \u00a3400m-worth still in circulation \u2013 and down the backs of sofas \u2013 with just this weekend to spend them.From midnight on Sunday the round pound will no longer be legal tender. Many retailers have made it clear they won\u2019t take them anymore, including Sainsbury\u2019s, M&S and Lidl. But there\u2019s no need to panic as Tesco, Aldi, Iceland and Poundland, plus lots of small retailers, say they will continue accepting them for a short period, while the big banks will let you deposit them into an account for months yet.
