\nShame I don\u2019t live in this five-bed where storage space itself comes in bulkMy mum loves a cheap buy. She hunts for them, possessed by an almost unconscious, spiritual determination. Like Captain Ahab searching for Moby-Dick, she wanders all the Cs (Currys, Co-op, Cash Converters) looking for the impossible: the Bargain. She\u2019s adept at it, too, which might explain why, when I told her the Costco card she had proudly presented me with wouldn\u2019t be useful as I didn\u2019t have the storage space for bulk-buy, she looked crestfallen. \u201cBut,\u201d I\u00a0corrected myself, watching her lips curl into a\u00a0smile, \u201cI love it, let\u2019s go!\u201dAnd so we went, hours lost in super-aisles, with Mum, the zealous bargain evangelist, home at last.
