This is his verdict …There can’t be too many office workers who can be found in their garage at 7.30am sawing up pieces of wood, but I am one. The reason for this early morning madness? Since December we have been heating our home with a wood-burning stove using reclaimed materials – and if the bits are too large to go in, they have to be sawn in half.A year ago I wrote an article extolling the environmental and financial benefits of these stoves, so it seemed foolish not to follow my own advice – especially as we have a house tailor-made for one.
