If you missed it \u2013 and that was easy to do as the consultation paper was slipped out last Friday just as all eyes were focused on David Cameron striking a deal with the EU \u2013 the fee increases are staggering.The official grant of probate (which is what you need before you are allowed to distribute a dead person\u2019s estate) now costs either \u00a3155 if you use a solicitor or \u00a3215 if you do it yourself.
