\nExpensive apartments are failing to sell at the Shard, with speculation that its location in the south of the capital is the impediment. London is not the only city with a stark divide across its banksFive years after the opening of \u201cEurope\u2019s first vertical city\u201d, the luxury apartments of the Shard reportedly remain unsold. Why? Aside from the astronomical cost \u2013 the 10 flats in the 72-storey building are together valued at \u00a3199,250,000 \u2013 there is the location. As one luxury property agent put it: \u201cRich people don\u2019t want to shell out zillions living south of the river.
