But not everyone is getting the switching messageThe possible savings for an average household that switches to a new energy supplier has soared to \u00a3337 a year \u2013 the most in seven years \u2013 according to data published this week.In the past few weeks the big energy companies have pushed through a series of miserly price cuts \u2013 typically just 5% off gas bills for standard customers \u2013 while, at the same time, cutting their cheapest tariffs to tempt new ones.
