Prem Kumar, proprietary partner and executive director of Jones Lang Wootton, has been confirmed to as a Judge for the South East Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) 2016, the country\u2019s most respected and most credible industry awards programme.

\nKumar has been recognised in his expertise in the Malaysian real estate sector for more than 30 years. He began his career as a graduate valuer with Jones Lang Wootton, going up the ranks as resident partner for the Johor Bahru office from 1992 to 2002, before assuming his current role in early 1998.
\nA member of several respected industry associations in Malaysia, including the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (as fellow), Kumar earned his highly regarded reputation with his integrity and ethical approach in providing sound valuation advice.
\nHe will be part of the independent panel for the third South East Asia Property Awards (Malaysia). The esteemed panel will include experts in property development, architecture, design and related industries, who will assess all entries and conduct site visits
\n\u201cA winning development should be one that has transcended beyond the norms especially in terms of innovation and creativity in design and architecture, sustainability, space planning and optimisation, environmental aspects,\u201d the first-time Asia Property Awards judge said.
\nKumar agreed to join the panel of judges because believes that the South East Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) is the ideal platform to elevate the property sector in Malaysia to a regional and international mindset by setting benchmarks comparable to advanced economies and markets.
\n\u201cThe benchmarking is also significant in the more generic context of achieving developed nation status by the year 2020,\u201d he said.
\n\u201cThe gala dinner should bring everyone in the Malaysian property industry together, along with their projects, in the context of the wider agenda of trendsetting, innovation and sustainability.\u201d
\nSouth East Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) 2016 nominations will close on 30 June and the official shortlist will be announced on 11 July. The black-tie gala dinner will be held on 11 August at the InterContinental Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
