\nDamac Properties has awarded 121 construction contracts in the first two months of the year with a combined value of Dh1.4 billion.The developer said that the awards include main contract packages at five of its sites – Akoya Oxygen, Damac Hills, Aykon City and at two new towers in Business Bay – Avanti Tower and Merano Tower. A Dh200 million package for Merano Tower was awarded to Abu Dhabi-based Commodore Contracting, while China State Construction Engineering Corporation picked up a Dh117.5m contract for infrastructure works at Akoya Oxygen. Other contractors to have picked up deals include Al Shafar National Contracting and Abu Dhabi-based Trojan General Contracting and Ghantoot Gulf Contracting.”Sustaining momentum from the successful launch of the Trump International Golf Club Dubai at Damac Hills, work has been steadily progressing at Damac Hills as the community takes shape,” said Mohammed Tahaineh, a senior vice president at Damac Properties. “We are also pleased with the level of progress at Akoya Oxygen, Aykon City, Avanti Tower and Merano Tower, and our appointment of these reputable contractors, consultants and suppliers to get the work completed on projects at various stages of development.” By the end of last year, Damac had built 17,900 homes and had more than 44,000 in the pipeline.mfahy@thenational.aeFollow The National’s Business section on Twitter
