\nA derelict 1920s London property gets vivid touches from a Finnish designerFor Jonna Saarinen, Nordic design isn\u2019t all about sophisticated pale timbers and white walls as far as the eye can see. What lingered in her mind from her Finnish childhood is a brighter, bolder, more whimsical look. \u201cPattern is the fun side of Finnish design,\u201d she says. \u201cI thrive on a style that\u2019s full of colour.\u201dWith Marimekko cushions, vintage Swedish wallpapers and Finlayson fabrics \u2013 plus a generous dash of Moomin-abilia \u2013 it\u2019s a look that\u2019s alive and well in her south London home, and also informs her work as a textile and surface designer.
