It doesn\u2019t look\u00a0like a begonia \u2013 it\u2019s more like a\u00a0luxurious hemp or delicate\u00a0palm \u2013 and every time I\u00a0see it, I fall head over heels again.This is a cane-type begonia, with elongated, fleshy stems that look a bit like bamboo. It comes from\u00a0the Brazilian rainforests and grows up to 2m. It\u2019s an understorey plant in the forest, so likes shady, humid conditions, and can be grown as a\u00a0houseplant or outdoors as tropical bedding in the\u00a0summer and overwintered somewhere warm.
