(Photo: Yuganov Konstantin, Shutterstock.com)

JLL’s clients in Asia Pacific can now make use of its VR360 Services, a first of its kind app that allows users to view the construction progress of their property developments from start to finish from anywhere in the world.
The virtual reality tool captures 360-degree spherical images via a series of cameras at the construction site. Clients can now explore their building projects and look around in all directions, mimicking an actual site visit. It enables clients to monitor the status of their developments closely, identify any problems, and discover potential issues that may impact the future fit-out or design.
“VR360 Services lets our clients stay on top of their projects by bridging geographical barriers and bringing them closer to their sites. They can log in from a computer, tablet or mobile device and have a virtual walk through the spaces in their own time,” said Martin Hinge, JLL’s Managing Director for Project and Development Services in Asia Pacific.
In fact, one of its early adopters, a major multinational technology firm, has successfully implemented VR360 Services in its latest construction projects in Singapore and China. Through it, the stakeholders were able to watch how the buildings take shape even if they were in elsewhere in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, India and the US.
“This exciting development demonstrates how we are making a difference to our clients’ experience. Besides offering them greater connectivity to their projects, VR360 Services also provides seamless communication so we can resolve on-site issues together,” noted Ian Chadsey, JLL’s Solutions Development Director for Asia Pacific.
Aside from serving as a better alternative to conventional site photos, it will also enhance the way clients manage their facilities, allowing them to better plan repairs and refurbishments. This is because the tool provides a detailed recording of the wall, floor and ceiling construction, including electrical and mechanical plumbing systems.

Romesh Navaratnarajah, Senior Editor at PropertyGuru, edited this story.
