\nBritain\u2019s 21 million bond holders will have same chances but be more likely to win smaller sums in cut to \u2018prize fund rate\u2019Having a flutter on the premium bonds is about to get less attractive following a decision to slash the total prize pot. Under the changes, the chances of winning some cash will stay the same, but there will now be a lot more \u00a325 prizes on offer and fewer \u00a3100,000, \u00a325,000, \u00a310,000, \u00a35,000 and \u00a31,000 ones.The announcement that the \u201cprize fund rate\u201d \u2013 the proportion of the total amount invested paid out in prizes \u2013 is being reduced from 1.25% to 1.15% deals a blow to Britain\u2019s 21 million-strong army of premium bond holders.
