\nThere\u2019s not a white wall to be found in this Hastings home, where the design ethos is \u2018loud and jolly\u2019. By Karen WilsonWhen Annemarie and Paddy St Vincent Farr bought their four-storey Victorian semi in Hastings, East Sussex, it was painted white from top to bottom. However, with Annemarie in charge of the re-decorating, it soon became a bright, eccentric party house, with a record player on every floor and an explosion of jewel-like colours in every room.\u201cWhen I was little I wanted to be a gas meter reader so I could nose around other people\u2019s houses,\u201d laughs Annemarie, 52, an events designer who specialises in upholstery, wallpaper and soft furnishings, and has dressed outdoor weddings and Moroccan tents.
