\nWhat\u2019s the point of Trainline\u2019s \u2018cancellation protection\u2019 if it doesn\u2019t even cover a cancellation?There are certain buttons on the internet that no one ever clicks. No 17-year-old presses \u201cexit\u201d when warned that the content is only suitable for adults aged 18 years and above. No one clicks \u201creject\u201d when told about cookies (even if they should). And I thought no one ever said \u201cyes\u201d to Trainline\u2019s insurance. Why bother to pay\u00a0a few more quid to \u201cinsure\u201d something as mundane and risk-free as a short train trip? Most of us just swipe past the junk insurance \u201coffers\u201d on train, concert and budget airline sites as speedily as possible.But we were contacted this week by a reader who, remarkably, did actually pay \u00a34 to insure her journey \u2013 a \u00a337.50 ticket from Birmingham to York.
