\nWhen American interior designer Amy Spiegel checked into the newly opened Arlo hotel in New York City, she did something she hadn\u2019t done for years: she raided the mini-bar.
\n\u201cHotels usually have grim offerings of M&Ms, bland potato chips and overpriced wines,\u201d she says. \u201cBut I\u2019d stocked mine up with my favourite local Brooklyn treats, like Butter & Scotch\u2019s Dark and Stormy Caramel Popcorn, from the hotel\u2019s general store.\u201d
