\nFormer dancer Amber Jeavons\u2019s home is dark, dramatic and surprisingly luxurious. Jo Leevers visits\u201cI call this luxury on a Brexit budget,\u201d says Amber Jeavons of her south London flat. The interior designer\u2019s home is where she loves to play around and try out new ideas but, she says, \u201cI can\u2019t just go out and buy a whole new look.\u201d And neither would she want to. \u201cA home needs to feel evolved, not bought off the peg,\u201d she adds.Instead, Jeavons\u2019s style has come about from adapting and reinventing pieces she already owns. Wooden furniture has been painted or stripped back, a favourite standing lamp is repaired with industrial hose clips and her kitchen is a masterclass in where to spend and where to save. \u201cThe result is dark, theatrical splendour \u2013 but without breaking the bank,\u201d she says with a flourish.
