\nAs temperatures across Asia plummet this week, many areas in the Far East and Southeast Asia are left in the freezing cold, according to the Asian Correspondent. Bangkok, for instance, woke up to around 16 degrees last Monday, while it\u2019s actually snowing in Lao Cai, northern Vietnam.
\nWeather reports indicate that the abrupt cold wave will soon end, and by this time next week you\u2019ll probably need to turn on your air-conditioning system at home again.
\nIf you\u2019re headed to Sweden, there is a place where people who love the cold can pay to sleep amidst the snow. For 25 years now, the Jukkasj\u00e4rvi Ice Hotel has been inviting guests to do just that.

\nMade from 4,000 tonnes of natural ice above the Arctic Circle, the 50-room ice hotel opened in mid-December 2015 and will accept bookings until April 2016 \u00ad\u2013 if the igloo suites still hold up by then, that is. With Jukkasjarvi\u2019s normal winter temperature averaging at -25 degrees Celsius, visitors need not worry.
\nIt was reported that some 40 architects, builders and lighting designers worked on the seasonal structure for eight weeks when the temperature dropped to zero.
\nThis winter\u2019s ice hotel features 1,000 hand cut ice crystals and offers a Swedish \u201csauna\u201d ritual experience (ice plunging), sashimi served on ice, and a northern lights wake-up call for guests. There\u2019s also an Arctic wilderness survival beginner\u2019s course, so you\u2019ll know what to do in icy situations.
\nMore than 50,000 people from around the world are expected to visit the ice hotel. By the end of April, the hotel management will have served more than 26,500 drinks in the rocks from ice cocktail glasses.
