\nBangkok\u2019s tallest tower is at the centre of a row over Thai labor laws

\nFollowing the success of Monday evenings lights show, Thailand\u2019s tallest building, MahaNakhon is facing conflict over claims it breached Thai labour laws.
\nThe complaint regards foreign architects working in Thailand.
\nRegulations from the Thai Ministry of Labor reserves 39 professions for Thai nationals. These professions include architecture, civil engineering and numerous traditional Thai crafts.
\nMahaNakhon was designed by German architect Ole Scheeren.
\n\u201cThese restrictions are a thing of the past,\u201d Jedkamchorn Phromyothi, president of the Architects Council of Thailand (ACT) told Bangkok Post, explaining how with globalisation, it becomes harder to restrict a professions in such a manner.
\nProperty Report reached out to Pace, the developers behind ManaNakhon. We were told: \u201cwe have done everything, from design, construction, through to sales, and marketing, legally.\u201d
\nPace added how the company hopes the tower will put Bangkok in the spotlight for further investment and tourism.
