\nDeyaar Development has started construction work on its 408-unit hotel and serviced apartment block close to the Mall of the Emirates.Dubai developer Deyaar said that the 70,800-square-foot block is expected to be completed by December 2017.The hotel will comprise 299 hotel rooms and 109 serviced apartments.Deyaar is already developing two hotel apartment blocks in Dubai The Atria in Business Bay and the Mont Rose project in the Dubai Science Park.Last year Deyaar announced it was planning to build around a thousand new hotel rooms in Dubai.Dubai-based Millennium and Copthorne Hotels would operate the Sharia-compliant hotels that are expected to come on stream by 2020.lbarnard@thenational.aeFollow The National’s Business section on Twitter
