Image credit: David Leo Veksler (Flickr)<br \/>\nLondon-based real estate investment company Select Property Group has opened its second Asian office in Shanghai.<br \/>\nThe opening is hot on the heels of the opening of an office in Singapore, its first in Asia, which opened in April.<br \/>\nApparently, Select has recorded an 835 percent increase in the number of Asian investors taking up real estate in Britain since 2010. The largest proportion of Asian clients turn out to be from either Singapore or China.<br \/>\n\u201cAsia is one of our most important growth markets and the launch of our second office in the region will allow us to better serve our valued investors from China. Our first footprint in Asia through our Singapore office has yielded encouraging results, and we are excited about the opportunities our Shanghai office will bring,\u201d said Adam Price, Select\u2019s managing director of global sales.<br \/>\nThe opening of the Shanghai office is widely seen to target Select\u2019s growing base of student tenants and the attendant growth of purpose-built student accommodations.<\/p>\n<p>More: Singapore\u2019s UOB suspends London property loans following Brexit<br \/>\nAccording to Knight Frank, Singaporeans and Chinese were the largest Asian buyers of British and Australian property in 2015, with USD25.10 billion and USD22.09 billion in investments, respectively.<br \/>\nIn spite of Brexit arousing a sense of caution among investors worldwide, Chinese property giant Dalian Wanda Group announced a pair of skyscraper projects in London\u2019s Nine Elms area last month.<br \/>\nSimilarly, Singapore-based property developer Oxley Holdings Ltd is building more than 3,000 homes in London\u2019s Royal Docks.
