\nAlys Fowler has the answerI planted \u2018Therador\u2019 garlic last December. I\u2019ve taken one up and found it hasn\u2019t separated into cloves. I\u2019m worried they\u2019ll all be like that and won\u2019t store. Is this likely and what\u2019s the cause?Wait a bit longer. What you\u2019ve pulled up sounds like some very healthy green or \u201cwet\u201d garlic, when the whole bulb is like an onion. I bet clove initiation has happened, but the papery skin between each one hasn\u2019t hardened yet; this happens in the last few weeks of ripening. Continue reading…
