\nAt least 20 solicitors we\u2019ve approached say it\u2019s \u2018a low fee for a high risk\u2019I am in the process of trying to remortgage our family home with HSBC, and have encountered what I consider to be significant practical issues with one of the lending requirements.As part of the process it was identified that the loan would be of benefit to me personally, as some of the funds would be used to service a loan in my name, while the asset we are securing (our house) is held in mine and my wife\u2019s names.
