I\u2019m among them; sometimes I\u00a0dream in floor plans. But one\u00a0thing that persists among all the conversations about postcodes, rail connections and side returns is the\u00a0subject of north-facing gardens: a\u00a0horticultural bogeyman even among those\u00a0who profess not to know about\u00a0gardening.It\u2019s funny that north-facing gardens have such a bad rep. There\u2019s a sense that to live with one is to cloak yourself gothically in shade and misery, which isn\u2019t true.
