\nWith its recycled furniture and pops of colour, this Scandi beach cabin is a lesson in how to make vintage come aliveCathy Nordstr\u00f6m\u2019s summer house is a three-minute cycle from the beach in Torekov, a fishing village in Sk\u00e5ne, Sweden\u2019s southernmost county. In August, when the schools are shut, it\u2019s not unusual for Nordstr\u00f6m to return from the shops to find eight bikes stacked up against the front of the house and a horde of sandy children inside. \u201cIt\u2019s kids, Nerf guns and Lego everywhere, all the time,\u201d she says. \u201cBut that\u2019s OK. It\u2019s a summer house: it\u2019s supposed to be lived in.\u201dNordstr\u00f6m, a Swedish textile designer, spent her early childhood in Surrey but even then would go to Torekov for the summer. In fact, much of her extended family have sommarstuga (a summer cabin or cottge) in the village. \u201cAs a child, I had so much fun here,\u201d she says, \u201cbut as I grew older, I tried to rebel against the whole idea.
